‘Nourish our Nurses’ receives Royal support
To mark International Nurses’ Day on 12th May, HRH The Countess of Wessex spent the morning volunteering with ‘Nourish our Nurses’. This enterprising group from Englefield Green, founded by Jo-Ann Airikkala, buys fresh produce from the market and then supplies bags of fresh food to hospital, ambulance and community healthcare frontline champions more …. The Countess joined the volunteer team to help pack and deliver 200 bags to St Peter’s Hospital at Chertsey, where she also met nurses and midwives on several wards including critical care. A number of the lucky recipients found more than just food in their bags – Her Royal Highness placed golden envelopes with extra treats donated by local businesses in some.
