King’s Award for Enterprise Reception

On Tuesday 9th July, His Majesty The King, joined by The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, as well as the Duke of Kent and The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, hosted a reception at Windsor Castle for some of the 225 winners of this year’s King’s Award for Enterprise.

The awards, (previously known as The Queen’s Award for Enterprise) have been running for 58 years and recognise some of the best of British businesses, many of whom are leading in their fields of Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity Through Social Mobility.

They are one of the most prestigious business accolades in the country, with winners able to use The King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years on their products, with many reporting that it boosts their profile and access to new markets.

Eligible businesses are free to apply for one or more categories. The recipients pass a robust assessment process, judged by experts from industry, academia, the voluntary sector and senior officials in Whitehall.

On that basis, each year, The King’s Awards for Enterprise recipients are recommended by the Prime Minister.
