Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation presented to Camberley Nepali Society

A Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation has been presented by Deputy Lieutenant Neelam Devesher to Debbahadur Ghale, the chairman of Camberley Nepali Society for supporting the elderly and infirm during Covid.

They assist by picking up prescriptions, shopping and providing a regular telephone service. This community is vulnerable and is facing many challenges and the impact of the covid pandemic has left the community more vulnerable and in need of support.

The Camberley Nepali Association has risen to this challenge under Debs leadership by providing a lifeline to these people particularly the elderly and isolated members of the Nepali community. The Society has supported their community through regular contact with their members, distributing food and rations, basic household items and face masks etc. Deb provides support by linking various welfare support agencies, so his community is better able to access this support as well as making sure that there is support for bereaved families with the funeral arrangements.
