Each year, the Lord-Lieutenant appoints several young people to serve as his Lord- Lieutenant’s Cadets. They are drawn from the Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, the Air Training Corps, the Combined Cadet Force and from the civil uniformed youth organisations – Scouts, Girl Guiding and the St John Ambulance – across Surrey. When on duty, Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets wear a distinctive sash with the badge of their appointment, to denote their role. They assist the Lord-Lieutenant as required – often on parade for Royal visits – and act as ambassadors for their organisations and the young people of Surrey.
The five Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets for 2017-18 who assist the Lord-Lieutenant from time to time are representatives from (left to right below):
Sea Rangers – Cadet Corporal Chloe Myers
The Surrey ACF – Cadet Corporal Cillian Brown
St John Ambulance – Amy Eustace
Surrey Scouts – Tom Tatham
Surrey Wing ATC – Cadet Warrant Officer Lisa Baker
