Michael More-Molyneux has lived in the county all his life. Loseley Park has been the residence of the More-Molyneux family for over five centuries. Michael and his wife Sarah moved out of Loseley House in 2017, when their eldest son Alexander and his wife Sophia took over the Elizabethan manor house and the running of the estate.

Over the years Michael More-Molyneux has built links with many organisations and businesses in Surrey. Since his appointment as Lord-Lieutenant in 2015 he has become involved with an increased number of charities and many good causes across the county. In 2018, he considers this a very important part of his role.

“The sentiments I expressed six months after my appointment by HM The Queen have not altered in any way,” he says. “I am committed to encouraging and supporting the voluntary, charitable and faith sectors, benevolent organisations and the industrial, business and social life of our county. The welcome and support that I continue to receive from communities and individuals across Surrey has been inspirational and energising and I relish developing my role."

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant
Mr CW Biddell DL was appointed Vice Lord-Lieutenant on 8th February 2016. Bill Biddell is the Chief Executive of The Hampton Estate, a family owned traditional agricultural estate located on the southern slopes of the Hogs Back in Surrey. He trained as a Chartered Surveyor qualifying in 1985 and practiced in central London and West Sussex. He has been involved in numerous voluntary organisations in Surrey as President, Trustee, Chairman or board member, including Surrey Clubs for Young People, Disability Initiative, The Whiteley Homes Trust, The Surrey County Agricultural Society, The Surrey Nature Partnership and The Guildford Working Gundog Society. He is a director of Wealden Hops and Stern Farms and a governor of Christs Hospital School.

Bill was High Sheriff of Surrey in 2001 at the relatively young age of 41 and his focus for the year was championing the youth of Surrey. He said of his appointment as Vice Lord-Lieutenant: “I am extremely honoured to take up this historic post and I look forward to serving the Lord-Lieutenant during my time in office”.
